 About Camila

Camila Herrera is a proud Cuban-American first-generation artist born and raised 20 minutes away from Miami in Hialeah, Florida. Growing up Camila fell in love with performing by taking inspiration from her grandfather who was an actor and performer in Cuba. As she continued to further her craft, she realized how inaccessible the arts were for low-income students, limiting opportunities for artists like herself. Nonetheless, she never gave up and decided to take matters into her own hands. She made the exciting and terrifying decision to transfer high schools during her senior year to pursue theatre. (Miami Arts Charter, 2023)

In between finishing her senior year, vocal lessons, after school rehearsals, and working endless "Soup & Salad" shifts at her local Olive Garden, she never regretted her decision to follow her dreams against all odds.

Today, Camila's same ambition has led her to living in New York City pursuing her career at New York University. She expects to graduate in Spring 2027 with a BFA in Drama from Tisch’s New Studio on Broadway/Atlantic Acting School with a minor in Educational Theatre.

She most recently made her directorial debut alongside NYU Steinhardt’s Youth Theatre Ensemble 10-minute Play Festival in 37 Scenes and a Watermelon by Ian Downes.
